How do you know you are hearing God's voice?

With the many voices clamoring for your attention, it may seem difficult to discern God's voice. There are many views on God, spirituality, and religion. There are even those who feel that God does not exist. bmx games

So how can you hear God's voice? How can you be sure it is his voice you hear?

Jesus described it using this simple analogy. He compares himself to a shepherd and his followers to sheep.

"When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:4-5,27 NIV).

While Jesus makes it sound easy, it requires the daily practice of the art of prayer. It requires spending time dedicated to emptying your own thoughts and listening for God's voice.

When you spend time listening for his voice and following him, you will be sure when it is he who is speaking.
