In the New Testament, the special designation for food was cast aside very explicitly in Acts 11:1-18. Here we see Peter's explanation to the church of a vision he had. In the vision, he saw what were considered unclean animals, and he heard the voice of God say, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat." interstate movers

After three times of protest to God, he decided to obey God. This was to be a sign that the old Judaic practices were no longer to be a barrier that separated Jew from Gentile. The good news of Jesus Christ was for all people.

So the New Testament believers were not concerned about special food for special occasions. This was a new time. A new age. The good news was not about food, but about a new relationship with the risen Son of God.

That being said, there was one special occasion that had very special food and very special meaning. It was the celebration of the Last Supper, also called the Eucharist or communion today. This was celebrated regularly using bread and wine to remember and participate in the death and resurrection of Jesus.
